intro

The new Nesting Collection is now complete and we have already received tremendous feedback and excitement from our clientele.

Among others, architects involved in this project include Thomas Lawton, John Legerton, Stephen Farrell, and  William Triplett (Homeowner on H-1) who have already designed beautiful homes in Creston. The collection’s main objective was to design a series of cottages and cabins that were smaller and more responsible, with emphasis on the great room as the focal point of each.

Creston Growth Update

Creston, chiefly through the efforts of our dedicated sales team and our creative consultant Bill Borg (www.storypowered.com), was able to achieve continued stability in the marketplace. 10 new families decided to join our growing community this year! These new owners are from PA, SC, CT, NY, NC, GA, MD and FL and 8 out of 10 hope to live year-round in Creston just as soon as possible. Sales activity was up 100% over 2009 with continued growth expected to carry over into the spring with lots of interest in the Nesting Collection. In addition to Creston being one of only a couple communities in Western NC both debt-free and with amenities and infrastructure 100% complete, the single most driving force of this continued sales activity and strong values has been the sense of community Creston offers. The sustained building activity and the turnout at this summer’s annual meeting are the best indicators of this. There are currently 3 more custom homes under construction and many owners working with builders and designers with half a dozen more already in the design review process! Fortunately, property owners continue to see strong appraised values in Creston whether it’s for their new purchase, refinance or construction loans. Local lenders and their underwriters continue to offer attractive loan programs in Creston in addition to our ability to offer seller financing.

There has been a lot of work on our newest neighborhood, the Kestrel Neighborhood.

Kestrel has a brand new stone entrance and sports a logo of the namesake hawk. This area of Creston along Kestrel Lane now has a bonus trail system named Spring Hollow Trail, a playground and a spring overlook offering a good stop off point during a stroll. We have also relocated the community organic garden to a sunnier location along Kestrel Lane with a nearby water source for irrigation. The vision of Kestrel is a more rustic cottage community with retreats tucked in against a breathtaking south exposure. Prices for an acre plus homesite start at $89,500, prices on turnkey cottages including homesite from $299,500. There are additional amenity enhancements planned for Kestrel in 2011.
